Notations: Speakers may switch their CX and/or their Affirmative Rebuttals as long as they inform the judge prior to the start of the round. Each team has a total of 8 minutes preparation time. DO NOT ask for prep time and keep track of how much time you use yourself. When prep time has expired, the remaining time will count as overtime. The penalty for overtime (going over the speech time limits and preparation time) is determined by the judge. Generally you may finish your sentence after time has elapsed; however, in a close round the judge may use overtime as a deciding factor. During the CX period, each debater is to stand at the front of the room and face the judge- DO NOT face your opponent during CX. During the CX period, the person asking the questions may Only Ask Questions - Do Not Make Comments Or Give Mini-Speeches. During the CX period, the person answering the questions should ONLY ANSWER THE QUESTIONS - DO NOT ASK QUESTIONS.
